WSSEF ~ Regional Science & Engineering Fairs

There is only one statewide fair allowed in Washington by Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) rules.

Washington State Science and Engineering Fair (WSSEF)

WSSEF Includes All Students Grades 1 – 12 Statewide

April 2 & 3, 2027

Grades 1 – 8 is April 2 and Grades 9 – 12 is April 3, 2027 Work on your projects NOW!

Join in the fun at the in-person Fair held in Bremerton, Kitsap County

Regional science & engineering fairs in Washington are also ISEF affiliated.

If you live in a county covered by a Regional Fair for your grade level, then you must register with the Regional Fair before entering WSSEF.

If you live in a county not covered by a Regional Fair, or are a DRSEF student, you can register directly to the WSSEF.

Central Sound Regional Science & Engineering Fair

Grades 9 – 12, In-person Fair 2027 ~ (King & Snohomish Counties) Fair date is TBD

Discovery Regional Science & Engineering Fair (Formerly South Sound Regional Science & Engineering Fair)

Grades K – 12 Fair 2027 (Pierce, Thurston, Mason, Lewis, Kitsap, Jefferson, Clallam and Grays Harbor Counties)

Due to DRSEF 2027 unavailability, all DRSEF students will directly register with WSSEF to attend the in-person Washington State Science & Engineering Fair. You also have the option to attend a neighboring in-person or virtual regional fair. Contact registration@wssef.org for more information.

Mid-Columbia Regional Science & Engineering Fair

Grades 6 – 12, In-person Fair 2027 (Garfield, Columbia, Klickitat, Asotin, Adams, Kittitas, Douglas, Okanogan, Walla Walla, Chelan, Franklin, Grant, Benton & Yakima Counties) Fair date is TBD

Southwest Washington Regional Science & Engineering Fair

Grades 9 – 12, Virtual Fair 2027 (Wahkiakum, Skamania, Pacific, Cowlitz & Clark Counties) Virtual Fair is March 6, 2027

Eastern Washington Regional Science & Engineering Fair

Grades 6 – 12, In-person Fair 2027 (Stevens, Lincoln, Spokane, Pend Oreille, Ferry & Whitman Counties) In-person Fair date is TBD

Northwest Regional Science & Engineering Fair (affiliation pending)

Grades 6 – 12, Fair 2027 (Whatcom, Skagit, Island and San Juan Counties) Due to unavailability, all NWRSEF students directly register with WSSEF to attend the in-person Washington State Science & Engineering Fair.
