Today, 300 U.S. high school seniors were named scholars in the Regeneron Science Talent Search, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math research competition for high school seniors. Regeneron STS is a program of Society for Science, the same non-profit organization that owns and produces the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair. The Society is proud to acknowledge these emerging leaders in STEM fields.
Each top 300 scholar receives a $2,000 award from Regeneron with an additional $2,000 going to their school. The competition overall awards $3.1 million to provide the opportunities and resources that students need to become the next generation of inventors, entrepreneurs, and STEM leaders. The 40 finalists each receive $25,000 and the chance to compete for the $250,000 first place prize in a week-long competition in March. Finalists will be announced on January 20, 2022.
Supportive adults like you, their mentors, and their teachers are the reason that students have continued to perform science research during the pandemic. This year, a staggering 75% of scholars completed their research in the home environment! Encourage the 11th grade students in your network to apply to Regeneron STS when the application opens in June.
**The application for the Regeneron Science Talent Search 2022 will open Summer 2021. To learn more about the Regeneron Science Talent Search, visit https://www.societyforscience.org/regeneron-sts/.
This opportunity is possible in part to the Washington State Science & Engineering Fair (WSSEF) as a Regeneron affiliated fair. Support your Washington State Regional Fairs and the WSSEF. ** Click for WA Fairs’ info. These remarkable students deserve your support!
