Science doesn’t stop because the schools are shut! Get connected to student-driven project-based learning through a WSSEF independent research project.  The Washington State Science and Engineering Fair (WSSEF) is sponsoring Zoom interactive sessions to support students, teachers and parents interested in project-based student-driven independent research.

Meetings will cover how the virtual science fair will work during the COVID crisis, important rules for science fair in 2020-21, ways to find mentors and resources for effective projects, and key information about ways that student research can turn the COVID crisis into a COVID opportunity.

Biologist Tim Smith, Douglas County Secondary Teacher of the Year will host. Tim’s students have won over 100 science fair awards, taking home prizes from the International Science and Engineering Fair, the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium and the Junior Stockholm Water Prize.
